I have, haven't I? [ The smirk that follows is slightly devious -- it's waaay to easy to picture doing exactly that now. ]
Maybe I should think of it like that, too...
[ Instead of running from every problem. ]
How are they? The babies, I mean. I meant to stop by last night... [ He realizes only afterwards that he's actually not sure if he had. Everything after 7pm got a little fuzzy. ]
Did I? [ That's not good. The opposite, really. If there is anything he cares about, it's not being around his children when he's like that.
He's nothing like his father, but the fear that he could be always lingers. ]
Sorry. Sometimes I forget some of the things I did the night before... [ Normally, he has Jun and Yumi to help figure him out -- or it had been normally back home. Then again, there were times when even they were stumped. ]
[Who knows if he'd come around or not. After all, Diva was a Chiropteran and not the most agreeable person at times.]
Well I like you.
[But again, she doesn't really know him, does she? Sure she knows what he used to do (kill vampires) and that he probably had been treated poorly like she had been. Probably not to the same extent, but even Diva is aware enough to realize Tsurugi is a bit on the 'quirky' side.]
[ While it’s just as warmly said as anything else, it’s easy to tell by the way that he looks away that he doesn’t think it will stay that way. ]
Are you not very popular, Diva-Chan~? I’d think a cute girl like you would have a lot of friends.
[ Then again, with what she’d told him about her goal, it made sense that she’d be disliked. There weren’t many people who would take total sort-of-vampire domination kindly.
She’ll barely have time to reply before he’s hurriedly tugging her along after him. ]
[He is lucky, but so is she in a way. Or at least that's how she feels. While others found Duplicity to be suffocating, for the most part she's been enjoying herself.]
Mm...not really. Just because I'm cute doesn't mean people like me for me. The only friend I ever had before this place was my sister...and she thinks I shouldn't exist.
[If people gave her the time of day it was usually for all the wrong reasons. She squeezes him a bit tighter, brightening at the sight of the park.]
What flavor do you want? Order whatever you want! ♥
[ He says that, but when it comes time to pay, he wastes no time before begging for a discount. It’s only after the Submissive selling food becomes too uncomfortable with the situation and gives them their snacks for free that he turns around, wipes the fake tears off his face, and smiles at Diva.
This. This is probably why he never goes on real dates. ]
Ah, they look so good, don’t they~? Do you wanna go for a walk while we eat them or find somewhere to sit?
[The delight of being treated to something tasty is soon overshadowed by the display Tsurugi puts on to get them their desserts. Sure, she gets it, manipulating people to get what you want but this is a bit...much. Did he really not have that much money?]
Maybe sit? There are a few nice spots... [Pause.] You didn't have to do that, you know.
[Quietly she shuffles over until their sides are touching, raising her treat to her mouth to take a bite. A moment later and she's chewing thoughtfully. At least she has enough manners to swallow before she speaks again.]
[ Tsurugi, however, has no such manners, and is content to talk with a mouth full of food. ]
You’re really sweet, Diva-chan. ♥
[ It’s only after his mouth is covered in excess strawberry sauce that he bothers to wipe it away — with his sleeve, because really, what even are napkins? ]
[Again she's taken aback, just a little, by his behaviour. She's used to being the more messy party, not the one with better manners. As he wipes away the sticky sauce with his sleeve she can't help but look at the few napkins that had been handed to her by the person manning the crepe stand.
Hm.
He's missed a spot on his cheek and she decides to do something about it, reaching up to wipe it away using one of her napkins.]
[ The touch is tender in a way that Tsurugi doesn’t expect, and he tenses for a moment. When he relaxes, it’s with a soft smile, sad in its own way. There’s something nice about having someone fuss over him; without Yumi or Jun, there’s no one to attempt to make him act decent, so he’s seen no reason to bother.
He doesn’t let the sadness linger, instead falling back on the same joke he always makes whenever he’s called out for acting like a child. ]
Sorry, sorry. I was raised badly. [ The smile that comes with that is much brighter, undetectably fake. ]
[Carefully she places the napkin in his palm so he can use it again in the near future. There's a small sigh out of her as she leans back against the bench, kicking her feet in the air.]
Manners are hard and so is being not messy. I'm messy a lot of the time, but I've been trying to be a little less.

[Haha...why are they so horny...]
...Oh. Well, you're the father of my babies. He kind of just has to deal with it.
[She's not going to pretend she's a single parent okay.]
no subject
Maybe I should think of it like that, too...
[ Instead of running from every problem. ]
How are they? The babies, I mean. I meant to stop by last night... [ He realizes only afterwards that he's actually not sure if he had. Everything after 7pm got a little fuzzy. ]

They're okay. [Last night had been...something.] You did stop by though, but you were pretty drunk. Do you not remember?
[That's a little concerning.]
no subject
He's nothing like his father, but the fear that he could be always lingers. ]
Sorry. Sometimes I forget some of the things I did the night before... [ Normally, he has Jun and Yumi to help figure him out -- or it had been normally back home. Then again, there were times when even they were stumped. ]

[She's not here to scold him about what he did though. She's here because she wanted to be taken on a date and have a good time.]
no subject
[ He swings her hand with his. ] I wish you could meet him. He'd never believe I could score a girl like you.
no subject
[Considering what she is, after all...]
Why would it be so unbelievable?
no subject
He'd come around, I think. [ Probably. ]
Girls don't usually like me once they get to know me. I'm pretty sure even you'll get sick of me soon. ♥ But we're kinda stuck together now!
no subject
Well I like you.
[But again, she doesn't really know him, does she? Sure she knows what he used to do (kill vampires) and that he probably had been treated poorly like she had been. Probably not to the same extent, but even Diva is aware enough to realize Tsurugi is a bit on the 'quirky' side.]
I could say the same about myself, you know.

Oh! There’s the park! We’re almost there.
no subject
Mm...not really. Just because I'm cute doesn't mean people like me for me. The only friend I ever had before this place was my sister...and she thinks I shouldn't exist.
[If people gave her the time of day it was usually for all the wrong reasons. She squeezes him a bit tighter, brightening at the sight of the park.]
Ah, that didn't take very long at all!
no subject
So he focuses on something else, pulling her towards the park. ]
I told you it was close by! [ There’s even a small dessert stand at the entrance. ]
Do you want a snack? We could get crepes! ♥
no subject
[Leave it to Diva to be food motivated.]
I haven't had one in so long!
no subject

Maybe sit? There are a few nice spots... [Pause.] You didn't have to do that, you know.

[ He leads her to a bench that’s nestled between two trees, comfortably shaded but still with enough of a view of the park. ]
Ah? No, it’s fine. I don’t mind.
no subject
You don't have to beg for food for me...if you don't have the money to spend it's okay.
no subject
No. I have the money. I’m sorry. [ He laughs, though it’s humorless. ] I’m still not used to it.
no subject
It's hard to break old habits. I get it.
no subject
You’re really sweet, Diva-chan. ♥

You always look so elegant though...

Adrian makes sure I keep my room tidy, otherwise I wouldn't. I had to learn how to be a Lady.
