Because of that man, the police released me after taking my statement. It was barely a day. A farce, really. I knew then that someone was wrong because of it.

It is usually far worse. What's more, half of the police force had been corrupted by Shido's reach. Needless to say, Ren suffered a lot more under their hands than I ever did.
